Hello Everyone!

A lot of you are probably right in the middle of exams, but just remember that
summer is right around the corner and you'll be able to make it through... right?!

Although April is when the majority of new students enter Waseda, in September
there are also a lot of new students from a variety of countries and regions
entering Waseda. In fact, over 1,300 international students from countries all
over the world will come to Waseda this fall (estimated).

At the ICC, we are now recruiting event supporters to help us carry out the
Japanese Cultural Week events to welcome the new students coming in September.

Event supporters join ICC student staff leaders in making and holding events at
the ICC. Becoming a supporter is a great way to get a new experience that is both
fun and useful for expanding your network on campus. You'll be able to take pride
in successfully helping produce an event that brings a smile and new opportunities
to the students who join.

If you are interested in trying something new, if you enjoy working with others
toward a common goal, if you want to get to know more Japanese and international
students, then whether you have been to an ICC event before or if you haven't, by
all means join us!

◆Purpose and Outline
To help local and international students coming to Waseda for the
Fall Semester to have a smooth transition into campus life, provide
them with useful information, and enable them to enjoy Japanese
culture and customs. Supporters will start helping to produce these
events in early September.

◆Supporter Information Sessions
*Participation is required to become a supporter

Times and Dates: (1)Aug. 28th (Tue) 3:00-3:30pm
　　　 　　　　 　 　　 　 (2)Aug. 29th (Wed) 4:00-4:30pm
　　　 　　　　 　 　　 　 (3)Aug. 30th (Thur) 1:00-1:30pm
　　　 　 　 *Registration is not required for the information sessions.
　　　 　 　 *Those who already have experience as an ICC supporter are
　　　　 　　 still required to attend an information session.
　　　 　 　 *The contents of the three information sessions are the same.
　　　 　 　 *Participating in an information session does not obligate
　　　　 　　 you to become a supporter.

Planned events: (1)ICC Special Campus Tour (English & Japanese)
　　　　　　　　　　　　　(2)Tour of the shops and stores around Waseda (English & Japanese)
　　　　　　　　　　　　　(3)Japanese cultural experience events
　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　(trying on a Yukata, doing the tea ceremony, etc.)
　　　　　　　　　　　　　(4)Cafe-style event where students make sightseeing plans for Tokyo
　　　　　　　　　　　　　(5)An event where students can casually practice using Japanese
　　　　　　　　　　　　　(6)Cafe-style event with the main goal of making friends
