The International Community Center (ICC) provides space and opportunities
for cross-cultural exchange for both local and international students,
aiming to promote mutual understanding that goes beyond cultural differences,
geographic boundaries, or even generation gaps.
The ICC is currently recruiting new student staff who will be engaged in various activities,
from planning and coordination of cross-cultural events
and programs to the center's daily operation including office work.

Student staff leaders are required to participate actively in the planning, coordination, operation and management of events not only between local and international students,
but also between Waseda students and alumni, faculty and staff members, and members of local communities. They also need to commit themselves to the smooth operation of the center and further improvement of its activities
Responsibilities
- (1) Receive and handle visitors to the ICC
- (2) Presentations about the ICC for visitors from within and outside the university
- (3) General office work
- (4) Planning, coordination, and operation of events and programs
- (5) Public relations related work
- (6) Assist and offer guidance to students involved in ICC programs
- (7) Assist ICC's manager and other full-time staff
- 2. Contract period
- From early June 2010

In principle, approximately 15 to 20 hours during weekdays; 11:00am – 7:00pm, Saturday; 10:00am – 6:00pm
Please note:
- ∗ One hour meal break provided for shifts 6 hours and over.
- ∗ Shifts are decided based on class times, and due to scheduling issues requested shift times are not always possible.
- ∗ During term breaks, as a general rule working hours are from 9:00am – 5:00pm, Monday to Friday.

- (1) Waseda University student
- (2) Ability to communicate in Japanese and English
- (3) Proficiency in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.)
∗ The following criteria is also preferred:
- (a) Skill, experience and design sense in creating event posters;
- (b) Language proficiency other than English and Japanese;
- (c) Experience in general office work;
- (d) Experience in sports (for planning sports events);
- (e) Presentation know-how;
- (f) Physically strong
∗ You are not eligible to apply this time if you are finishing your study at Waseda or studying abroad before April 2011.
